I would recommend to do it like the PROFIBUS people:

While Kais suggestion, of course, is valid, I would not use that method.

Using the available isolated 485 transcievers such as http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm/qv_pk/3116 seems so much simpler to me.

no isolated supplies, no transfer of supply lines, just a twisted pair.
