Do you mean the flat cable?

The mere fact that it has 4 wires is really no grounds to guess that it might be USB or PS/2.

I would think it highly unlikely that either USB or PS/2 would be use internally within the laptop - these are interfaces for attaching external peripherals...

You would really need to find the datasheets to get anywhere with this - or, at the very least, have one in a working system that you could investigate with a scope...
