Unfortunately not in the datasheet of the old C8051F230, but the datasheet for the (slightly younger) C8051F300 clearly states:

The maximum VDD ramp time is 1 ms; slower ramp times may cause the device to be
released from reset before VDD reaches the VRST level.

Furthermore, I very much doubt that the 8051 core in a SiLabs part resembles the original intel design. What Richard observed during active reset in other devices may not apply for these ones.
