That's where it goes wrong - when it gets used as an emotional weapon against people, and when people start taking an emotional response.

Heck, I've even asked for my posts to be scored "-1: answer is wrong" when I've realised that I've made a wrong post.

I also agree with Prahlad, assigning points to names has unnecessary emotional qualities, too.
