#190659 - across brand
Responding to: ???'s previous message
You mean they do this across brand ?
yes, not to debug computing, but to debug I/O.

I just recently was asked to interface a board with 16 inputs and 16 LEDs. The signal names on the connectors (one LED at each to indicate 'active) had no resemblance to the signal names on the schematic and the layout person had routed "as best for routing"

it took me about a day to sort this out by patching bits into the various registers (was I²C driven) try THAT with a simulator (which, of course, has no idea about the signal routing on an external board). Well, fortunately this was with a chip having JTAG but to do thid with the resources available with an AT51 would take months.
