#142892 - English

This sounds like a most interesting book. A major factory here in the UK, I consult to, has a mainly Latvian and Lithuanian factory floor, these days. Due to the various dialects and language differences, they all use Russian - their first language taught in school (is that still the case?). It's most interesting as, when I was in the sixth form in the sixties, I could take a Russian language course. I never, for one moment, could have imagined how it could have been useful in the way that has transpired! We had much different fears in those days.

Perhaps I should find copies to distribute. The language barrier has to be experienced to be believed. And I, to my great shame, know only French and a little German...
