#98476 - Impedence Matching for Power Electronics
Dear Forum Members,

I am designing high frequency inverters for High frequency Resistance Welding and Induction heating. I have collected a lot of information from several websites and it helped a lot. One thing I still couldnt understand much is Impedence matching of source [ Inverter ] with load.

I learnt that
1. There are two commonly used methods LC matching and Transformers for impedence matching.

2. Source impedence of Inverter [ H- Bridge ] = Voltage rating of IGBT or MOSFET / Current drawn. [correct me if wrong]

3. Load Impedence can be calculated.

But I couldnt find any calculations for designing these matching elements & under what conditions LC or Trx is useful. It will be a very great help if you can please give me some links or post here.

Thanks & Regards,
Prahlad Purohit
