I am still using SiLabs C8051Fxxx type parts in projects. I just completed a toy for my grandson that uses a C8051F340 board from eBay to take RC6 IR remote control transmissions from an old Philips DVD remote control and displays patterns on an 8x8 LED matrix board that I made. It is powered by a LiPoly battery from AdaFruit and charged and boosted to 5V using some modules from SparkFun.
Fun project and certainly being enjoyed by the young tyke. Michael Karas |
