the problem is 2051 chip pin out put is cathode which is connected to gate..

Maybe you can get by with pullup resistors.

I would never have thought of using SCRs for a display, but why not. You will still need transistors for the other row/column, so why not transistors on both sides. There is no way you can turn it of if both sides are SCRs.
