Speed readout is realy not important. Hitting waypoints on time is the goal. I did the first race with NO speedometer at all and came in under 1.5 seconds, and most of that error was due to getting bad info on the final waypoint measurements. I was told the last waypoint was .90 miles out and it was really .943. That was before I measured my own.
